Five day trip to Maoyi Island

Maui is the second largest island in the Hawaiian archipelago. Maoyi island was actually three independent volcanic islands one million years ago. After arriving at the snorkeling site, some tourists gave up the chance to go to the sea to look for turtles. To be honest, although Greensea is the best place here   Even the crew doesn't guarantee that we can see 100% of the turtles. Although the sea was cold, I decided to jump in and start the journey of looking for turtles.

The sea water of this snorkeling site is not clear, the water is deep, and there are only a few scattered fish around us.



Bored, the staff went to the bottom of the sea to dig squid. After two attempts, he finally caught a big squid. The poor little guy was held on his arm by the staff. He gave out smoke twice and tried to escape without success.







Everyone gathered around the staff to take photos. I reached out and gently touched the octopus's body. It was so soft and sticky that I felt uncomfortable. Some daring tourists directly went to take a picture with the octopus and were sucked by the sucker of the octopus. It was very interesting.



Someone was lazy and didn't go into the water to look for a turtle. The advantage was that he took a clear picture of an octopus with an SLR on board. A closer look at the photo shows that the reddish brown octopus, who had been on the staff's arm for a while, was becoming flesh colored.







After releasing the octopus, the staff continued to search for turtles, but they were still busy. They searched for turtles everywhere, and finally heard the good news. Then I saw the big turtle swimming slowly from my left side, only two or three meters away. 



Looking at the turtle's slow motion, it's actually not slow at all, because with a mobile phone in hand, you can only rely on the power of your flippers to keep up with the water. Once you stop a little, you will fall a lot.

The first time I saw a turtle in the water, I was very happy. It was worth the hard work.





After chasing the turtle back to the ship, the crew had prepared a big lunch, a typical American sandwich.



It's no fun to have enough food and drink for the return journey. Unexpectedly, the crew found the whale for us. First, they saw the tail of the grey whale from a distance. After a while, they disappeared.





Moving on, I saw the precious scene of two whales walking together. Two huge black backs surfaced at the same time, as well as the tail of the whale, which attracted the cheers of tourists.





Because the scene of two whales parallel is very precious, the crew is not willing to leave. Stopped the engine and waited on the water for a long time. There are two little dolphins around the whale. The whale dived into the water for a long time, but the two little dolphins didn't make everyone lonely. They came out of the water from time to time, lively and lovely.



Just as we were about to leave, some tourists found that two big whales were swimming through the bottom of our boat, and the huge shadow passed under the boat, which was amazing.

After watching the whale, the boat drove back to the dock. When it was approaching the dock, it saw a few little turtles breathing on the water with their heads exposed, which brought another surprise to the trip.



Although it's a leisure vacation to Hawaii, due to the general road condition of Hana Road, many places are narrow one-way roads and need to take the wrong bus. In addition, Hana road is winding and has poor vision. The speed can only be between 30-50, and some sections can only drive 20 turns. After arriving at Hana, instead of going back the same way, I went on to Haleakala National Park and went back to the hotel from the south side of the island. We need to start early on this day. We can't go home until dark.


